Seven major facilities that a house for rent should not miss

Homeowners complain that people don’t like their property, but what they don’t do is assess the real problem(s). To be realistic, if people aren’t getting anything of value from your property, you can’t blame them for their lack of enthusiasm.

I know of a house where the tenants suffer from drought for eight months of the year because of their well. The only time they can enjoy water is that month of the year when it rains regularly and once the rain stops being frequent, they begin to experience dryness again.

Renting your house is not the problem, but the question is whether it has all the attractive facilities? Facilities go a long way in helping a rental property find tenants in no time.

Equipment is important. We cannot do without them. And any home that lacks some of these facilities is not considered a complete home.

What are these facilities?

1. Water supply

We all know how important water is in our daily lives. Having a house to rent that has a borehole is a big plus. This is essential especially in Nigeria where we rarely get water from the water company so planning for this is one of the things people pay attention to before renting an apartment.

2. Security

A standard house for rent should have security personnel guiding the property. Additionally, all security measures must be in place as not just anyone can access the property. The security doors are not left out either.

3. Cleansers

A good house for rent should have a cleaner that keeps the environment clean. This facility is one of those things that attract potential tenants. You might think renters are supposed to be the ones to do it, like what most people learned growing up, however, things have changed and homeowners need to put a class/standard on their property.

4. Toiletries

Plumbing fixtures, shower/bathtub must be in good condition. For older homes, if you know you will need to remodel or remodel in the future, you should be prepared to know that reality when you look at the house, not after you move in.

5. Parking lots

For tenants who own cars, parking is a very important facility. Landlords with a house to rent should consider ample parking for their tenants. Unfortunately, parking spaces are no longer a priority in Nigeria. Some would not even hesitate to build on a space intended for cars.

6. Properly tiled floor

At present, it is expected that houses in Nigeria are supposed to be tiled. Gone are the days when floors were left bare. Nowadays, a house without tiles is not considered modern.

7. Closed Compound

Unlike in foreign countries, one of the things people look for before renting a house is the door height. Now imagine that your property has no gate at all, it might be a bit difficult to get interested people to rent the place. Apart from security, people like to have their privacy. No random person on the street needs to know about the activities taking place within the compound.
