Essential functions:
• Manage facilities owned and leased by Habitat Charlotte to ensure they meet the needs of their occupants
• Regularly inspect facilities to identify preventive maintenance and repair needs
• Oversee/manage general maintenance of vendors doing cleaning, landscaping, HVAC systems, etc. Perform preventative maintenance activities and repairs as needed (e.g. changing light bulbs, unclogging a sink/toilet, pruning a tree, moving furniture, etc.)
• Store janitorial supplies and other facilities
• Facilitate solutions to any problems that may arise
• Buildings include: 3815/3816 Latrobe Offices, Cornelius Office, all ReStore locations and Patton Ave Warehouse.
• Assist with AmeriCorps apartment management, including leases, maintenance, apartment rotations, and rent collection
• Help serve tenants at the 3816 Latrobe office
• Create and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure Habitat receives the best materials and services at the best price
• Manage the safety of people and the safety of Habitat buildings
• Storage and maintenance of first aid/safety supplies, AEDs, etc.
• Distribute keys and access badges
• Assist with CPI security relationship
• Coordination and compliance with inspections and regulations of the fire prevention code
• Maintain maintenance and MSDS logs in each facility
• Coordinate with senior management on emergency action plans and disaster preparedness
• Supervise the acquisition and maintenance of Habitat vehicles and trailers
• Voluntarily adhere to the Habitats Code of Conduct policy and any other policies established by the organization
• Good verbal communication skills
• Be an effective team member when working with staff and volunteers
• Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude when interacting with employees, owners, volunteers and the public
• Represent Habitat in a positive and professional manner
• Show initiative
• Ability to quickly prioritize tasks and requests in real time
• Ability to use desktop computer programs, especially Microsoft tools
• Regular and reliable presence at work

Physical requirements:
• Ability to work in an office environment (eg sitting at a desk for several hours and using a computer, especially Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Ability to perform general facility maintenance tasks (eg lifting at least 25 pounds, using ladder and power tools)
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time

Additional requirements:
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel between sites during the work day, when the facilities truck is not available
• Must be able to be insured by our main auto insurer
• Hours are typically 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday, but may occasionally need to be available nights/weekends to handle emergencies or special projects
