EBRSO Raid, Seize Thousands of Drugs at Baton Rouge Facility, Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office Searches for Suspect


BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office (EBRSO) and Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) are looking for a man who escaped police custody on Monday following a drug trafficking case. drug.

EBRSO Narcotics and RADE have opened an investigation into possible drug trafficking led by Demond Pervis, 45, and other conspirators. Officers were able to obtain search warrants for his apartment as well as the multiple storage facilities he used in Baton Rouge. On Monday, January 18, Pervis and his wife were driving from Baton Rouge to Rapides Parish with a shipment of narcotics when they were stopped by RADE.

At the same time, EBRSO Narcotics issued the four warrants in Baton Rouge where $37,000 of meth, $12,650 of squeezed fentanyl, $16,000 of marijuana, $7,000 of THC gummies, 25 ounces of THC wax, 197 vape cartridges and 3.3 grams of cocaine were seized.

EBRSO says Pervis escaped custody at the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office before he could be booked and is on the loose.

Authorities involved in this investigation include EBRSO K-9, DEA Baton Rouge, the Lafayette Parish Narcotics Sheriff’s Office and RADE.
